TaKo Percussion is Sedar Jones. The High Point based percussionist has been deemed the "human metronome" by current and former bandmates. Over the years, Sedar has provided musical accompaniment to a wide array of artists using his straight-ahead jazz, soul, funk and a variety of Latin & South American rhythm influences.

Sedar began his journey, like most musicians, in church, playing drums for the youth choir.  The love for all genres began to grow and eventually Sedar began his growing his knowledge by taking band classes in grade school, joining concert & symphonic bands in middle school, performing in his high school jazz  and marching bands and wrapping up his academic band involvement as a member of the percussion section at North Carolina Central University.

The next level of musical pursuits saw involvement with several local bands, recording his first album with neo gospel artist Total Silence, the hip hop stylings of band, The Urban Sophisticates and the smooth urban sounds of Innertwyned, sharing the stage with drummer/musician Rischard Jenkins.  In addition, Sedar has performed live with the likes of singer/songwriter/producer Sy Smith, jazz saxophonist Dee Lucas, Grammy Award winning drummer/musician Calvin Napper, Adrian Crutchfield, dynamic guitarist Darnell "Showcase" Taylor and drummer/musician Demetrice "Meat" Everett.  Currently, Sedar is the touring and recording percussionist for Grammy & Stellar Nominated saxophonist, Marcus Anderson.​
